Beginning her professional career at the age of 7 in the hit musical trilogy "Mama I Want to Sing," she later pursued formal education at prestigious institutions like The Manhattan School of Music and The American Musical Dramatic Academy. Ahmaya co-founded The Mama Foundation for the Arts, home to the Emmy Award-winning program "Gospel For Teens," providing free arts education to New York communities. She also leads the "Sing Harlem Choir," a renowned ensemble with notable performances alongside artists like SZA, Chance The Rapper, and Jennifer Hudson. Ahmaya's contributions extend to academia, where she serves as a professor and director of music at institutions like SUNY Purchase and Dartmouth College.
